Instant Poha (Atukulu / Avlakki) in 5 mins

Poha is one of my favorite foods. I just love the poha in any form be it a upma or roast or sweet (soaked in jaggery water, milk) etc., Especially this serves as instant short eat (for me) when nothing is ready. So here goes my recipe..

Paper Thin Poha 1 cup
Grated coconut Half cup
Half tea spoon salt
Half tea spoon Mirchi powder
Quarter tea spoon Sugar
4 teaspoons of milk

  • In a large mixing bowl mix the poha with grated coconut adding 4 or 5 teaspoons of milk. (Milk is used to make the poha soft and enhance the taste).

  • Then add salt, mirchi powder and sugar and mix until the powders blend in to the poha evenly.
  • If you feel the poha had not got soft enough, add little more milk and mix well.
This is the basic recipe i would love to eat.

PS: You can add more ingredients like roasted peanuts or cashew nuts or almonds or salted pistachios etc. for the crunchier version of the same.
